Our schedules do vary from convent to convent, but the following our key elements of our daily life as Franciscan Sisters of Dillingen in the US:
Private Meditation - 1/2 hour
Other Private Prayers - 1/2 hour
Morning Prayer (Liturgy of the Hours)
Mass
Work Duties
Particular Examen (private review of the morning, practice varies from one convent to another)
Noon Meal
Work Duties
Evening Prayer (Liturgy of the Hours)
Supper
Recreation/Work Duties/Personal Time
Night Prayer (Liturgy of the Hours)
Each Sister is to devote at least two hours a week to spiritual reading. "For the Liturgy of the Hours, we pray Lauds [Morning Prayer] and Vespers [Evening Prayer], as a rule, in common. Compline may be prayed privately." (Constitutions, 3:10) We pray the rosary together for vocations on Saturdays after Evening Prayer. Our Constitutions ask us to devote time within our daily, weekly, and yearly schedule for proper rest and relaxation.
